The Knife
Title: The Knife
Author: Marolyn Krasner
Pocket Book No 2
The Knife is a beautifully crafted and observed piece of writing.
In a break from the norm it has been laid out like a book of poetry. The resulting Firestarter
is part social post, part poem and part short story.
For those who may feel ripped off by its brevity…we have included a bonus story, Paintbrush Fix.
You can never have too much Marolyn Krasner on your bookshelf.
Sample Text
He squats down and reaches through the archway for the hand trolley and pulls it through.
As he rolls the trolley towards the bricks, he notices a cool sensation on his shoulders and arms. He knows it is the wind hitting the blood from his wounds. He doesn’t look at them, he continues toward the bounty.
He pulls off the thin plastic sheets and begins stacking the bricks, two by two. He doesn’t stop until the trolley is full to the top. Nine layers, with four bricks on each layer. That’s 36 bricks. Not nearly enough.
